Daring to rise up for youth mental health
On the 29th August I am participating in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) CCC, a 100km trail race from Courmayeur in Italy, through Champex-Lac in Switzerland and ending in Chamonix in France.
There is a 26 hour time limit and I am hoping to complete it in under 20 hours, all going well.
This will be a real challenge both physically and mentally.
I have always found exercise and particularly trail running to be a great way to reconnect with nature, push your boundaries and reset mentally.
I have selected A Lust for Life as I see running as a great outlet for children and something that they can do with no equipment and can do it into old age.
I’m rising up for youth mental health by pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. I’m doing it because 1 in 5 primary school children in Ireland are already struggling with anxiety and other mental health challenges.
A Lust for Life is working to change that by giving every young person the tools they need to look after their mental health, before a crisis hits. Your donation will help them reach more children, change more lives, and help provide early preventative mental health education for children across Ireland for free.
