Top Fundraising Tips

Three Keys to Success

1. Ask everyone you know

Yes…we mean everyone. Close friends, distant cousins, ex-partners, your hairdresser….your entire social & professional network. You’ll be surprised by how many people want to show their support for youth mental health.

2. Remind everyone…twice!

People are busy. Even when they really want to do something (like make a donation), they forget. So, make sure you remind them…and keep reminding them. They’ll appreciate it.

3. Thank your supporters

Every time someone makes a donation, send them a personal thank you AND post a thank you message to your social media to inspire (and remind) others to give as well!

Advice From Past Fundraisers

"I was super excited asking for my first donation. It was really heartwarming to see how generous people can be! I raised funds through social media because I was documenting my training on socials. I spoke on radio and in local newspapers. I sent lots of emails to local businesses asking them to support and they did!"

Katelyn B. - Rising Up Kilimanjaro

"I set up a fundraising page and shared it on Facebook and Instagram. I also sent it to various Whatsapp groups and asked friends and family to share it too. Sharing it and asking others to share is probably what worked best. Having initially aimed for a goal of €500, we smashed it and raised €1705! We were blown away by the power of sharing!"

Linsey M. - Galway to Oranmore Kayak

"Don't be afraid of putting yourself out there. Don't be hard on yourself for trying to get it right on your first time. You are creating a space for people to come together and support a good cause. That's incredible."

Sean S. - Breathwork Fundraiser

"Keep it simple! Especially if it's your first time. I think people like it when you suggest a donation amount. Usually people give more than the suggested amount but at least they have a guideline."

Zara C. - Powerscourt NS Family Walk
