A Lust for Life ('ALFL') Fundraising
Terms & Conditions

ALFL adheres to the highest standards of openness, transparency, and governance.  These terms and conditions relate to the participation and/or co-ordination of any event/activity with the aim of raising funds for the benefit of ALFL so we do ask you to please read them before embarking on any fundraising event/activity.

I confirm that I am over the age of eighteen (18) years or I have my parent or official guardian’s permission to participate. In the instance whereby parental or guardian permission needs to be sought, I agree to provide ALFL with proof of this permission.

Association with ALFL & organising my fundraiser

In confirming my registration as a community fundraiser for ALFL, I am aware that during my participation there may be certain risks or dangers which occur due to the activities I organise.

By registering to fundraise for ALFL, I understand I am granted permission to associate my fundraising activity or event with the charity. ALFL does not assess or approve the event or activity itself, and I am solely responsible for ensuring that it is safe, lawful, and appropriate.  The overall running of the event, including expenses, promotion, insurance, record-keeping, and management is my responsibility. I understand and accept ALFL’s insurance does not extend to the fundraising event/activity. Whether the fundraising event involves use of public parks, public areas or private property, I understand and agree ALFL does not accept any responsibility for any damage that may arise from or be caused (directly or indirectly) by such fundraising event/activity. I understand and accept ALFL cannot provide Direct Marketing and PR support for my event.

I understand and accept that ALFL reserves the right to withdraw its association with my fundraising activity at any time if it believes the event or my conduct does not align with ALFL’s values, poses reputational risk, or breaches their Community Fundraising Guidelines. In such cases, I will immediately cease using the ALFL and/ or Rise Up name and branding in connection with my activity. If that happens, I understand and accept that ALFL may also publicise the fact that ALFL is not in any way associated with the activity.

Certain risks or dangers may occur which may include, amongst others: physical exertion to which I may not be accustomed, bodily or psychological injury, changing weather conditions and environmental dangers and the possibility of accident or illness requiring the assistance of medical and rescue services which may not be readily available.

I agree to waive any and all claims that I may have now or may have in the future against ALFL and release ALFL from any and all liability for any loss, damage or expense associated with injury, including death, that I may suffer or sustain as a result of participation, or activities I organise; due to any cause whatsoever, including negligence, breach of contract or breach of any statutory or other duty, on the part of ALFL including the failure on the part of ALFL to instruct, warn, safeguard the participant from any and all risks associated with the activities. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless ALFL from all liability resulting from loss, damage, or injury of any kind and in any way connected, directly or indirectly, with the fundraising event.

My participation and the activities I organise and run is solely at my discretion and I have undertaken my participation freely, voluntarily and absolutely at my own risk and with a full appreciation of the nature and extent of all risks involved in the activities I may organise.

Child Welfare

ALFL is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. If children are present during the activity, I will ensure the safety of child/ren by adequately supervising them and ensuring that there are always two adults present (unless the child’s parent/guardian is present). If I am concerned about the safety and welfare of a child, I agree to  contact Tusla at  01 771 8500.

ALFL Attendance

If I would like a representative of ALFL to attend the activity, I will notify ALFL as early as possible to enable a representative to be available. I understand and accept that not all requests will be able to be met as staff availability is limited.

Marketing

I understand and accept the activity may only use ALFL’s name & logo to advise that the activity will be to the benefit of ALFL. Example: “Title of Event” to benefit ALFL or in aid of ALFL. I understand and agree that prior approval must be obtained from ALFL for the use of any printed materials, media publications or advertisements associated with the event.  I will contact ALFL prior to the activity to gain approval for the use of the ALFL logo. If approval is given, ALFL will provide the appropriate version of the logo. I understand and accept that the ALFL logo must not be copied from other sources.

Fundraising Guides & Collecting Monies

I agree to ensure that any fundraising I undertake for the campaign will follow ALFL’s Community Fundraising Guidelines and will comply with any relevant Irish law.

I understand that I may collect donations through the online fundraising page provided through this sign up process.

If I plan to solicit contributions, endorsements, sponsorship, or in-kind gifts from businesses, I will provide ALFL with a list of potential business sponsors and public personalities for review and approval prior to approaching such sponsors/personalities. I agree to provide a list of all goods and services donated by companies and individuals when making the final remittance to ALFL.

If I am collecting cash at the activity, I agree to follow these essential steps to ensure transparency and security:

  • All cash must be securely stored throughout the event (e.g. in a locked cash box or sealed container).

  • At the end of the event, the cash should be counted and recorded in the presence of two adults, both of whom should sign a completed Remittance Advice Sheet confirming the total amount collected.

  • The full amount must then be lodged to ALFL’s bank account. In accordance with best practice under the Charities Act 2009, I agree to submit to ALFL a completed Remittance Advice Sheet and record of lodgement

  • Funds can be lodged via:

    • An online donation made to your personal fundraising page on the Rise Up website, an ALFL event website or via the Donate button on the ALFL brand website
    • Direct bank transfer. For bank details, email support@alustforlife.com
I will ensure all proceeds are submitted within 4 weeks of the completion of the activity.
